About me.

I am a writer and communications strategist specializing in policy translation, public affairs, and cultural storytelling. For more than fifteen years, I have worked at the intersection of editorial writing and strategic communications, translating complex ideas into language that builds trust, earns attention, and drives action.

My background combines journalism discipline with international perspective. I have supported and led communications for governors, secretaries of commerce, elected officials, attorneys general, tourism directors, and entrepreneurs. I have written press releases (many, many press releases), stakeholder briefings, talking points, advertorials, longform features, short form features, and messaging in times of crisis. The format changes, but the objective does not: identify what makes something important and express it with clarity.

During the COVID era, when tone and timing carried unusual weight, I helped shape messaging that reinforced safety, optimism, and public trust. I have led media efforts targeting European and Canadian outlets and understand how public confidence is built, lost, and rebuilt. In one notable campaign, I drove the grassroots engagement strategy that earned Providence, Rhode Island, a city of 180,000, the title of "America's Favorite City" from Travel + Leisure, outperforming significantly larger destinations through coordinated storytelling and audience activation.

My writing career began covering local news, where I learned that deadlines are immovable and accuracy is nonnegotiable. That foundation carried into bylines at The Poughkeepsie Journal and The Providence Journal, and later into national publications including American Road magazine, Business Insider, and Sports Destination Management magazine. I have written about road culture, downtown revitalization, music scenes, sporting events, and the small business owners that quietly anchor a community's identity.

I am currently based in Alicante, Spain, which has sharpened my understanding of how the United States is perceived abroad and how narrative shapes perception across cultures and contexts.

Whether developing editorial features, targeted messaging, or public affairs content, my work centers on one principle. People and the causes they champion are not products. Nor are they a monolith. Their stories require care, respect, patience, and precision. This creates momentum. This creates movement.
